Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

At ANU PDFLAB (accessible from https://pdflab.in/), published by Anu Tool, we recognize that document privacy is essential. Whether you are merging business contracts, splitting tax forms, or converting academic notes, your paperwork contains personal and sensitive data. This Privacy Policy explains our commitment to client-side document processing, how we handle site visitor data, and our use of cookies and third-party advertising services.

2. Fundamental Principle: Zero Document Uploads

Your files are never transmitted to our servers or stored on remote clouds.

Unlike conventional online file converters, ANU PDFLAB utilizes client-side web technologies (JavaScript, HTML5 Web APIs, and WebAssembly). When you select a document for merging, splitting, converting, or compressing, the file is loaded directly into your device's browser memory (RAM). All processing occurs on your local central processing unit (CPU). Once your session concludes, you reset the tool, or you close the browser tab, the temporary memory buffer is destroyed. We cannot read, view, copy, or retain your files because they are never sent to us.

3. Server Log Files Maintained by Our Hosting Provider

Like almost all websites, our hosting provider (Hostinger Business Shared Hosting) automatically generates standard web server access log files when your browser requests web pages, stylesheets, images, or JavaScript files. These logs typically record:

  • Internet Protocol (IP) addresses
  • Browser type and version (User Agent)
  • Internet Service Provider (ISP)
  • Referring and exit pages
  • Date and timestamp of the web page request
  • Number of clicks and bytes transferred

These server logs are used exclusively for administering the site, preventing malicious distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks, detecting server errors, and monitoring aggregate site traffic. Server logs do not contain and cannot capture your document contents, document filenames, or file metadata.

4. Local Storage and Client-Side Preferences

ANU PDFLAB uses your web browser's localStorage mechanism solely to store your preferred interface theme (Light or Dark mode) under the key anu_pdflab_theme. This ensures that your chosen theme remains active across page views. This preference does not track you across other websites, contains no personally identifiable data, and can be cleared at any time via your browser's history settings.

5. Contact Form Data

If you voluntarily communicate with us through our Contact Form or email us directly at contact@pdflab.in, we collect your name, email address, message subject, and inquiry text. We use this information solely to respond to your inquiry, investigate bug reports, or consider feature recommendations. We never sell, rent, or distribute your email address to commercial marketing lists.

6. Third-Party Advertising and Cookies (Google AdSense)

To support the free operation and hosting of ANU PDFLAB, we may display third-party advertisements served by Google AdSense when advertising is enabled:

  • Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on our site.
  • Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to our users based on their visit to our site and/or other sites on the Internet.
  • Users may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
  • Alternatively, you can opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting aboutads.info.

European Economic Area (EEA), UK, and Switzerland Visitors: When personalized ads are served to visitors located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, a Google-certified Consent Management Platform (CMP) will request your consent for the use of cookies and data processing in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and UK GDPR.

7. Children's Information

Protecting the privacy of young children using the internet is an important priority. ANU PDFLAB does not knowingly collect any Personal Identifiable Information from children under the age of 13. If a parent or guardian believes that ANU PDFLAB has inadvertently received personal information from a child, please contact us immediately at contact@pdflab.in, and we will promptly remove such information from our records.
